Why won’t Tarrant Co. CPS workers believe a 13-year-old boy who has told them twice that his father is physically and sexually abusing him.
The boy has told his mother, doctor, therapist, minister, teachers, godmother, friends and Lillian Smith President J.J. Smith that his father frequently slaps him and his two younger brothers across the back of the head when he’s angry.
He also claims his father frequently grabs his crotch when they are in the car and used to touch his private areas when they shared a bed during a three-month period when they didn’t have enough beds for all four of them.
“I hate it when daddy does that,” the boy told Smith on the phone. “I’ve told him to stop but he doesn’t.”
According to his mother, who said she left her husband after years of physical and emotional abuse, CPS investigator ——- told her he does not believe the boy is telling the truth and is only telling such stories because the mother is putting the boys up to it to alienate them from their father.
She denies it and says nothing could be further from the truth. She said he was abusive to her throughout their 26-year marriage and was raised in an atmosphere where physical, sexual and emotional abuse was rampant.
The boy has been interviewed twice at the Tarrant County CAC and the same CPS investigator was there each time.
