Victim assistance has been the focus of our work since our founding in 2006. Beginning in 2017, however, our focus shifted to preventing and reducing child abuse.
That’s because the majority of adults who commit child, domestic, dating and sexual abuse crimes are driven by the rage they feel after having been severely abused or abandoned as children by their parents, guardians and/or others whom they trusted to love and take care of them. Many want revenge, and will get it by targeting adults who remind them in some way of their parents or guardians.
Unfortunately these abusers never received the therapy they need to overcome what they experienced as children. Preventing and dramatically reducing child abuse is therefore essential to stopping all other forms of abuse. The sooner we can prevent and dramatically reduce child abuse, the sooner we can dramatically reduce virtually all other domestic, dating and sexual abuse.
