Foundation president J.J. Smith visited the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center April 12 to learn more about the child abuse prevention programs its education specialists offer to the community and to meet DCAC leaders and staff.
He was given a tour of the three-year old facility in east Dallas by Community Education Director Dianna Smoot and former CPS investigator Ray Lara. He also met President Lynn Davis and Public Relations Specialist Jana Parker.
DCAC only deals with criminal cases and was involved in over 4,000 cases of child abuse last year involving 2800 children between the ages of 3 and 19. About 80% involve sexual abuse.
The DCAC educational team cam make child abuse prevention presentations as soon as we arrange them to children, parents and adults at schools, daycare centers, PTA meetings, churches, youth centers, workplaces, club meetings, etc.
DCAC also offers online training for just $10 per person. Three products are offered for either children 8-14, parents or child welfare professionals.
