CLEBURNE TX – Why didn’t CPS or Cleburne Police inform Tarrant County Coroner ____ White MD that Buddy Cook had HIV before he conducted the first autopsy, after the four-year-old boy suddenly died?
Had they done so, Dr.White said, his office would never have declared the boy’s death a homicide, he would not have had to change the cause of death to “natural causes,” nor would Buddy’s adoptive parents, David and Angel Cook, ever been jailed, wrongly called murderers and falsely charged with Injury To A Child.
“CPS and Cleburne Police are culpable for all that happened to the Cooks,” said Dr. White.
The Cooks said they were jailed twice, shunned by the Cleburne community, refused medical care and threatened repeatedly, but police would not help them. They even had their house painted with red graffiti that read “Child Murderers.”
They were also forced to spend over $200,000 for legal defense fees and professional counseling for their seven other children, who were removed by CPS and placed in foster care for one year at Texas Baptist Home For Children in Waxahachiee. There the Cooks said each child was either physically, sexually, emotionally and/or medically-neglected by other foster children and/or foster parents.
Foster parent —— recently messaged Angel Cook on Facebook.
“Kids deserved what they got!”
CPS and Cleburne Police spokesmen say they have no comment regarding why they did not inform Dr. White. Police said they conducted their own investigation, separate from CPS, and did not ignore the Cooks pleas for help from threats.
